Sports and Remedial Massage :
This form of therapy is specified for the treatment of injury and soft tissue/mechanical imbalances.  It gained attention through the athlete Paavo Nurmi in 1924.  He won several gold medals at the Paris Olympics in one day.  He sited this style of massage as one of the important components of his training.
Now it is commonplace for both local and Premiership Football Clubs such as West Ham F.C., or athletes at the Olympics to have Sports Massage as part of their warm up or recovery from events or training.
